Once again World Missions HOCM held our annual Banquet on May 5th to 7th at the Woodbine Convention Centre in Toronto Ontario. This year was unique in the sense that it was the second time that we have had an conference along with our annual banquet in the past 20 years. We had the prevalage of Having the General Director Dr. Douglas Leroy, the Assistant General Director COG World Missions, Kenneth R. Bell Special Assistant Canadian World Missions and special guests Jim and Gena Hudson missionaries in Haiti. We would like to thank God for the extras pecial favor that he gave us by allowing these tremendous leaders in the COG to minister to us, to God be the glory.
Seeing the line up of guests that attended the conference and banquet, the presentations and the preaching were sole steering, richly motivational. highly informative and most importantly we gain tools to continue with the "great commission", again to God be the glory. This was Jim and Gena's first trip to Canada , they brought with them some souvenir items that were hand crafted in Haiti. I had the privileged of going on the mission field last October were i worked wit Jim and Gena in Haiti. Please pray for them, they are in the teeth of the storm in Haiti. If you wish to support them please contact World Missions headquarters in Cleveland Tennessee or HOCM.
The culmination of the weeks event is the grand banquet held on Saturday May 7th. All of the friends and partners of HOCM came out in there numbers looking sharp as usual to whom we are eternally greatful. A wonderful time of fun and fellowship was had by all and the food was delicious as usual. The banquet is our only fund raising effort for the year so we do encourage all our friends and partners to fellowship and enjoy this event while supporting the mission.
It is important that all of our supporters know that HOCM is engaged in the mission field all year round. we have already shipped and distributed supplies in Guyana this year, we have finished the Church in Roache Blanc in Haiti and we are in the process of acquiring a property to open up a orphanage in Haiti, we are in the process of putting together 5,000 care packages to send of to the Philippines and we are collecting supplies to send a 40 foot container to El Salvador this October and we are inviting volunteers to come along with us and experience the missions field. Every time we travel I can guarantee you the opportunity to get closer to God and carry out first hand the Great Commission. Application forms are available bellow.
Again, we at HOCM appreciate all the support our friends and partners have shown this year. we do not take your support lightly, we endeavor to make sure your donations reaches the missions field, that is why we invite our friends to come on the trips to personal hand out supplies you will never be the same. We want to say thank you, thank you for for your support and we want you to know that we have and we will continue to pray for you. God ritchly bless you all and we love you.

On Saturday September the 17th a 40 foot container was loaded destined for the people of Belize, Guatemala and El Salvador. This was accomplished with the help and sweat of some of our faithful brothers and sisters from various churches in the region along with outstanding representation by the Kitchener Yugoslavia church and East Scarborough. Thanks to all our friends and partners who donated non perishable foods, cloths, bicycles, backpacks, care packages, purses, etc and a special "God bless you" to those who donated money which allowed us to purchase, rice, flower, pasta and many canned goods.
A team of over 20 Missions Reps and volunteers will be leaving Canada October 24th for El Salvador where they will personally distribute items from the container to these precious people. If you have never been on a missions trip to see the faces of the men, women and children who receive the donations you contributed you are missing something special. Everyone, it should be a goal in life to go on one of these mission trips with Rev. Binda and his team to experience first hand what the "great commission" is all about. Don't be intimidated by the Missions field experience, Rev. Binda understands that we are not all missionaries therefore he plans these trips with decent local accommodation yet allowing the team to go out in the field to minister. Next year there will be another missions trip, make plans now, and I will post details in the next couple of days.
Again, thanks to all our partners for their prayers that gives us the strength to press on with this ministry for their generous contributions that make Hands of Compassion a difference maker to lives all over God's earth and his precious people. God bless.

Greetings to all in the wonderful name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ our soon coming King.
As we move into the year 2011, the Church of God has embarked on their annual 21 day prayer and fasting. Its seems as if each year the call for prayer and fasting gets increasingly urgent time after time. This year being no exception, it is urgent that we collectively embrace this call for prayer and fasting and fully commit to effectual fervent prayer. Please remember to pray for the leaders of the church and most importantly pray for the harvest field it is truly ripe.
Blessings |
